Lae
is the second largest city of Papua New Guinea and is the
manufacturing and industrial Center of the Nation with most of
the company Head Offices located within the city Lae and its
immediate environs.
The main Lae wharf is one of the biggest and busiest apart from
Port Moresby and with easy access to the international shipping
lines, combined with the good all weather road network, Lae is
the gateway to the most densely populated Highlands Region of
PNG., The Sepik provinces including Madang and the islands
Provinces of New Britain and New Ireland including Manus and
Bougainville are efficiently serviced out of Lae.
The Homecentre city is on Mangola Street beside the Lae market.
It is the largest department store in the region with an
adjacent outlet for agricultural supplies named Didiman Ples. In
top town, there is a smaller store affectionately known as
